Governor's Statement Regarding Proposed Compromise on Transit Funding

[November 27, 2007]  CHICAGO -- The following statement from Abby Ottenhoff on behalf of Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich was released Monday regarding a letter from House Speaker Michael Madigan and Rep. Julie Hamos endorsing a compromise transit funding proposal.

"This was a compromise solution we embraced several weeks ago. We made this compromise the center-piece of the special session we called for Wednesday. We hope the legislature can muster the votes necessary to pass it quickly."
