Oasis Update

[November 28, 2007]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Breakfast bingo

Breakfast bingo at the senior center will be on Thursday, beginning at 9 a.m. Breakfast and bingo will cost $3.50. The breakfast will feature pancakes, sausage links, eggs and fruit. Come join the fun.

Oasis chili and vegetable soup lunch

The Oasis is having its annual chili and vegetable soup lunch and bake sale in conjunction with the Christmas Parade in downtown Lincoln on Sunday. Serving will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be lots of goodies to eat and prizes to win.

Tuesday's lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Dec. 4 will feature meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread and butter, and dessert for $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Reservation deadline is noon Friday.

Winners for the week announced

Mina Bradburn and Tom Garrison were weekday pinochle winners. The weekend pinochle winners were Larry Van Bibber, Ruth Ackerman and Wally Reifsteck.
