[November 29, 2007]  (AP) A cold front was expected to move through the Ohio Valley toward the eastern seaboard on Thursday, bringing rain to the Northeast and parts of the Mid-Atlantic. Some showers were likely to turn to snow as the day progresses.

Showers were also possible in Florida and along the Southeast coast.

Rain was forecast for parts of the Pacific Northwest and into the Intermountain West. The rain was expected to turn to snow, especially in the higher elevations of the Cascade Mountains and Intermountain West.

Frigid Arctic air was projected to move into the northern Plains and upper Midwest and drop temperatures into the single digits in some areas.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Wednesday ranged from a low of minus 2 degrees at Grand Forks, N.D., to a high of 85 degrees at Miami, Fla.
