Invitation to Elkhart's Community Christmas

[November 30, 2007]  ELKHART -- Join the Elkhart community for a festive day on Saturday as churches, businesses and civic buildings are open for the holidays. At the village hall, the Needs and Goals organization will have its annual bake sale, starting at 8 a.m., and Santa will make a visit from 9 to 11 a.m.

Carousel rides will be available throughout the day, and local businesses will be open extended hours for their Christmas open houses.

The Elkhart Historical Society will have candlelight services at the Elkhart chapel on Saturday at 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. For reservations, call 947-2238.

The Elkhart Library is sponsoring a tour of homes from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets are available at the library for $5 per person. All ticket holders' names will be entered for a Christmas basket drawing. Homes on the tour are those of Mike and Michelle Dawson, Art and Genda Freeman, Paul and Dawn Williams, Vern and Mona Maas, and Steve and Boo Anderson.
