[November 30, 2007]  CHICAGO -- The following is a statement from Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich on the Amtrak train collision Friday on Chicago's South Side:

"I want to thank and congratulate the fire and emergency responders who were on the scene quickly this morning to help evacuate injured passengers and respond to the accident. The positive news at this hour is that there were no fatalities. My thoughts go out to those who were injured and their families, and I am praying for their full recovery. Our state emergency management officials have been in contact with local and federal emergency officials on the scene, and the Illinois Commerce Commission has already dispatched railroad investigators to review the circumstances surrounding the collision. The state is prepared to help responders and investigators in any way."
