Johnson suspends 5 players indefinitely   Send a link to a friend

[October 01, 2007]  NORMAL -- Illinois State head football coach Denver Johnson has indefinitely suspended sophomores Micha Gordon and Mitchell Moore, along with freshmen Clifton Gordon, Antwan Ryles and Cameron Thompkins, due to a violation of team rules.

"I’m very disappointed in these young men," Johnson said. "At this point and time, each of them has been suspended as a result of violating a team rule."

Only Moore and Micha Gordon have seen game action this season. Moore, a running back, has one carry for 1 yard, while Micha Gordon played in three games with a pair of special teams tackles. Ryles and Thompkins are both being redshirted this season, and Clifton Gordon is a walk-on.
