[October 09, 2007]  NEW YORK (AP) -- With their season and their manager's job again at stake, the New York Yankees can even their playoff series with the Cleveland Indians in Game 4. Chien-Ming Wang, the Game 1 loser, will start for New York on three days' rest. Paul Byrd tries to close it out for the Indians.

After dropping the opening two games of their best-of-five series in Cleveland, the Yankees avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the Indians with last night's 8-4 comeback victory in New York.

The two teams hook up again tonight under the lights in the Bronx, where Wang will be looking for a reversal of fortune. The right-hander went 19-7 during the regular season before getting roughed up by the Tribe last Thursday at Jacobs Field.

Byrd will make his first postseason appearance of the year for Cleveland. He went 15-8 during the regular season.

The Diamondbacks, Rockies and Red Sox completed three-game sweeps over the weekend and will be off until later this week. The League Championship Series' get under way Thursday with Colorado at Arizona in the opener of the National League's best-of-seven showdown for the pennant.

Boston awaits the winner of the Indians-Yankees playoff, with Game 1 of the ALCS scheduled for Friday night in the Hub.
