Thies receives two scholarships

[October 16, 2007]  Brooke Thies, daughter of Justin and Jodi Thies of Lincoln, is this year's recipient of the Dr. Edward Ulrich Memorial Scholarship and the Puritan Springs Water Scholarship at Lincoln College.

Thies, a sophomore, is a 2005 Lincoln Community High School graduate. She is currently studying general education classes and plans to continue her education at Millikin University to study criminal justice. She has achieved academic success and was on the fall 2006 semester President's List.

The Dr. Edward Ulrich Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a worthy student in good academic standing. The scholarship was established by the Ulrich family in memory of Dr. Edward Ulrich, a longtime physician in Lincoln and friend of Lincoln College.

The annual $1,000 Puritan Springs Water Scholarship at Lincoln College is awarded to a student from Logan County who holds a 3.0 grade-point average. The award is provided by Puritan Springs Water of Lincoln.
