At this month's Logan County
Board voting session, William Sahs announced that he would not be
seeking re-election next year. Sahs told the board he and his wife,
Barbara, would like to spend more time with family, and some live
out of state.

Sahs was originally
appointed to fill the remainder of Lloyd Hellman's term and then was
elected to a four-year term. In other action, the board approved
closing a well and installing an anti-siphon hydrant to draw city
water at the Logan County Airport. The original low bidder, D&D
Sewers, pulled out of a bid that was made a year ago, and the next
lowest-bidder, Albert's Brothers of Lincoln, was awarded the
contract at $4,523.58.
The board also approved a carpet proposal from Stewart's Carpet
Center of Mount Pulaski to re-carpet the circuit clerk's office and
circuit clerk's civil division office, and the county board room and
office. Stewart's was the low bid of three at $8,423.14.
