Wheat prices decline sharply on CBOT       Send a link to a friend

[October 25, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures slid Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade, as wheat prices fell sharply.

Wheat for December delivery dropped the 30-cent limit allowed by the CBOT to $8.11 a bushel; December corn fell 4.5 cents to $3.565 a bushel; December oats shed 3.75 cents to $2.745 a bushel; January soybeans fell 5.5 cents to $9.9375 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures declined on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle dropped 1.35 cents to 95.87 cents a pound; November feeder cattle lost 0.6 cent to $1.105 a pound; December lean hogs shed 0.92 cent to 55.35 cents a pound; February pork bellies fell 1.4 cents to 80.12 cents a pound.
