[October 27, 2007]  (AP) Forecasters predicted heavy rain in the Northeast and Michigan and more moderate rain from the coastal Southeast through the Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. Dry weather was expected along the West Coast.

A system in the Plains was expected to bring dry conditions and cooler air was expected to move into the northern Plains and Great Lakes regions.

Meanwhile, dry weather was expected along the West Coast.

Portions of the Southwest were expected to see temperatures into the 80s and 90s, while the Southeast was expected to have temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

Temperatures in the Northeast were expected rise into the 50s and 60s, while the northern Plains could see cooler temperatures in the 30s and 40s.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of 4 degrees at Hurlburt Field, Fla., to a high of 111 degrees at Williamsburg, Va.
