Agriculture Futures Slide on CBOT

[October 31, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures ended lower Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade, with sharp declines in wheat and soybean prices.

Wheat for December delivery fell 14.5 cents to $8.14 a bushel; December corn dropped 5.75 cents to $3.7025 a bushel; December oats shed 1.75 cents to $2.83 a bushel; January soybeans fell 19.5 cents to $10.0925 a bushel.

Beef futures rose and pork futures fell on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

December live cattle rose 0.35 cent to 94.37 cents a pound; November feeder cattle advanced 0.70 cent to $1.0995 a pound; December lean hogs lost 0.57 cent to 53.9 cents a pound; February pork bellies dropped 1.05 cent to 83.05 cents a pound.
