The
West Lincoln Broadwell baseball team lost a game Thursday, 13-3, to
Metcalf and won a game on Friday, 11-4, defeating Sangamon Valley.
In Thursday’s game, Chanse Hoagland was 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, and
Jake Olson had two hits and a run scored. The Wolverine bats came
to life on Friday, as they banged out 13 hits in support of winning
pitcher Tate Gordon. Gordon (1-2) pitched a complete game, allowing
only 5 hits, striking out 8; and he had a hit with 3 RBIs to help
his own cause. Hayden Matson was 4 for 5 with 3 runs scored.
Hoagland, Zach Schleder, and Dane Eimer each had two hits for WLB.
WLB opens up County Tournament play Saturday morning at the
Recreation Center at 10:00 a.m. against Carroll Catholic/New
Holland-Middletown.
