Results from 'Stay Alive on the I's'

[September 04, 2007]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Illinois State Police, District 9, announced the results of the "Stay Alive on the I's" traffic initiative that was conducted Friday from 2 p.m. until midnight and Monday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

  • Speeding citations: 196

  • Seat belt citations: 29

  • Improper lane usage citations: 3

  • Following too closely citations: 2

  • Driving under the influence citations: 1

  • Other alcohol citations: 2

  • Other Illinois Vehicle Code citations: 133

  • Scott's Law citations: 14

  • Total warnings issued: 133

  • Criminal arrests: 4

  • Motorist assists: 40

  • Property damage crashes: 1

  • Personal injury crashes: 1
