Wheat surges to daily trading limit          Send a link to a friend

[September 05, 2007]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Wheat prices surged Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for December delivery climbed 30 cents to $8.055 a bushel, the daily limit permitted; December corn gained 13.25 cents to $3.5325 a bushel; December oats rose 7.75 cents to $2.625 a bushel; November soybeans rose 25 cents to $9.075 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle rose 0.72 cent to 97.62 cents a pound; September feeder cattle gained 1.38 cents to $1.189 a pound; October lean hogs added 0.25 cent to 67.07 cents a pound; February pork bellies added 0.02 cent to 90.42 cents a pound.
