Logan County Habitat for Humanity to dedicate home built in partnership with Atlanta family          Send a link to a friend

[September 13, 2007]  ATLANTA -- Logan County Habitat for Humanity has completed construction of its first home in Atlanta. Keith and Nanette Mathews have worked with Habitat in the construction of their home and are looking forward to moving their family into their new home soon.

This is the second home that Habitat has built this year and the 11th that the group has either built or rehabbed in Logan County. The lot was donated by the late Gertrude Wilson, who was a resident of Atlanta. She was present at the groundbreaking on May 5.

The public is invited to celebrate the house blessing on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at 600 S. Alexander St. in Atlanta. Following the dedication, the Mathews family welcomes the public to tour the home and share refreshments and fellowship.

Habitat for Humanity of Logan County plans to build another home in Lincoln in 2008 and in Mount Pulaski in 2009. Applications may be sent to Habitat for Humanity of Logan County, P.O. Box 714, Lincoln, IL 62656.
