ISU's Sampay suspended indefinitely          Send a link to a friend

[September 15, 2007]  NORMAL -- Illinois State head basketball coach Tim Jankovich has suspended junior forward Brandon Sampay indefinitely due to a violation of team rules.

"Our basketball players are held to a standard of accountability," Jankovich said. "Brandon used poor judgment, and as a result of his decision there are consequences."

Sampay signed with the Redbirds in May 2007, after a two-year stint at Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. The 6-foot-8, 255-pound post player averaged 13.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season.
