Central Illinois Economic Development Corp. is
pleased to announce a partnership through the Illinois Association
of Community Action Agencies with Ameren Cilco, Ameren CIPS and
Ameren IP to offer assistance for customers with the Bill Payment
and Special Hardship programs.

CIEDC will continue to have LIHEAP for households that have income
below 150 percent of the federal poverty level. In addition, CIEDC
will now offer the Ameren Bill Payment program for households with
income from 151 percent to 200 percent of the federal poverty level
and the Special Hardship program for households from zero to 400
percent of the federal poverty level that have experienced extreme
hardships since Jan. 1. To qualify for the program, documentation
will be needed to support this hardship. Only Ameren Electric
customers qualify for the Bill Payment or Special Hardship programs.
CIEDC will also continue the Dollar More program through Ameren
Cilco and Ameren CIPS for households up to 200 percent of the
federal poverty level.
Individuals who may have been over income for LIHEAP are
encouraged to schedule an appointment now to see if one of these new
programs can offer assistance. It takes less than 20 minutes to fill
out the forms and could help with those high electric bills that
have been coming in the mail.
