Wheat for December delivery rose 24 cents to close at $8.74 a bushel; December corn added 7.25 cents to $3.765 a bushel; December oats rose 1 penny to $2.8325 a bushel; November soybeans fell 9.5 cents to $9.79 a bushel.

Beef futures rose and pork futures ended mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

October live cattle rose 1.4 cents to 96.7 cents a pound; October feeder cattle gained 0.95 cent to $1.162 a pound; October lean hogs fell 1.02 cents to 61.35 cents a pound; February pork bellies rose 1.08 cents to 86.7 cents a pound.
