Weather        Road Conditions


The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a  tornado warning for  Sangamon County,  Eastern Menard County, Southern Logan County until 7:00pm CDT.

At 6:36 pm CDT the public reported a tornado near Williamsville or about 12 miles North of Springfield moving NE at 20 mph. Locations impacted include Cornland, Elkhart.

Other locations in the warning include Riverton.  This includes interstate 55 between mile markers 103 & 122. 

When a tornado warning is issued, it means that strong rotation has been detected in the storm & atmospheric conditions support that rotation reaching the ground. A tornado may already be on the ground or is expected to develop shortly. If you are in the path of this dangerous storm, move indoors & to the lowest level of the building. Stay away from windows.  If driving, do not seek shelter under a highway overpass.

Report any severe weather or damage to your local emergency manager or the nearest law enforcement agency for relay to the National Weather Service.
