[April 07, 2008]  An active weather pattern returns to the region this week with two storm systems to affect central, east-central and southeast Illinois.

The first system will move across west-central Illinois late Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing a threat for scattered thunderstorms to the area. Some of the storms could become severe during the afternoon and evening.

The next and stronger storm will push out of the southern Plains on Thursday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area Thursday and Friday. Some of the storms with the late-week system could also be severe.
