[April 09, 2008]  CLEVELAND (AP) -- The 11-year-old Cleveland boy who steered a runaway school bus to safety says he decided to take the wheel because the bus was rolling toward a semi.

The boy made his first public comments since Monday's crash in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Wednesday.

David Murphy says other children on board were "freaking out," screaming and hollering.

The 27 students aboard weren't seriously injured. The bus started rolling when the driver went into a service station restroom with the bus running. Police don't know why the bus started to roll.

A police spokesman says the bus driver will be cited for leaving a vehicle unattended with the keys in the ignition and for registration violations.
