[April 11, 2008]  The YMCA along with Constable Nate Miller is hot on the trail of a mischievous cow. A cow? Yes, this cow is wanted in connection with our second annual "Cow Chip Bingo" fundraiser. The cow will be brought to justice on May 10. Bring your family and enjoy a day of games and contests, fun, food, a magician and of course Cow Chip Bingo. The fun begins at 12:30 p.m. Remember to mark your calendar with a "moo!"

Be sure to stop by the YMCA office to sign up your second- through fourth-grade girls for the "Hannah Montana" party on April 18 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Pizza and drink will be provided along with many fun and exciting activities based around the "Hannah Montana" theme. Stop by the Y office today to get your girls signed up.

Registration for spring volleyball will continue through April 28. This program for children first through sixth grade will meet on Tuesday nights, beginning May 6. Join instructor Krista Hoban as she teaches your children the "fun"-damentals of volleyball. Sign up your children today as space is limited.

Y swimming lessons are a great way to prepare your children for a summer of fun in the pool. Lessons are at the Lincoln Elks Club pool, beginning June 16 through July 26. Morning and evening sessions are available for children ages 6 months (with a parent) to 12 years. Class size is limited and will fill up fast, so be sure to stop by the Y office today to get your child registered.

Watch your mail for wee ball registration forms. Wee ball is a great way for children ages 4 to 5 years to learn the basics of baseball, with hitting, throwing and catching, running the bases, and playing an abbreviated game. Wee ball will meet on Saturday mornings, beginning May 31 through June 21. Stop by the Y today and get your wee ball going.

Join the Y Run Club on April 26 at Kickapoo Creek Park in Lincoln for its first group run of the season. Y Run Club is for both novices and experienced runners who are looking for others to learn from and run with. Stop by the Y office today to register for the new and exciting club.

The Lincoln Area YMCA is an agency supported by the United Way of Logan County. We extend our appreciation and thanks to them for their generous support in 2008.
