The event is a two-day competition for students representing
dairy science programs at North American universities. It
enables students to apply theory and learning to a real-world
dairy, while working as part of a four-person team. Members of
the U of I team, all seniors, were Steven Fluty of Bloomington,
Elizabeth Johnson of Carlinville, Matthew McCoy of Palestine and
John Mitchell of Winnebago. The team was coached by Kate Cowles,
a graduate student in the Department of Animal Sciences.
