[April 22, 2008]  ELKHART -- Two additional Wildflower Walks on Elkhart Hill have been scheduled. They will be on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. All four walks earlier in April were sold out, prompting the addition of two more walk opportunities. Celebrate springtime with a walk on Elkhart Hill and enjoy the spectacular wildflowers!

Walkers should meet at the Bluestem Bake Shop in Elkhart for the 9:30 walk and at the Wild Hare Café for the 1:30 walk. The walks leave promptly at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Each outing will last approximately 90 minutes, and each group is limited to 15 people. Children must be age 7 or older and accompanied by an adult.

Everyone on the walk will receive a "Wildflower Bingo" card to learn the names of flowers and to keep track of the beautiful wildflowers they see on Elkhart Hill.

Reservations will close on Thursday and are required. The cost is $5 per person.

The outing will be on foot, so walkers should dress for the weather, wear good walking shoes and bring insect repellent.

Visit www.elkharthistoricalsociety.org for a reservation form or call 217-947-2046 for more information.
