Agriculture futures fall sharply on Chicago Board of Trade

[April 22, 2008]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures traded lower Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery fell 24.25 cents to $8.4575 a bushel; May corn slipped 19.25 cents to $5.8025 a bushel; May oats dropped 6 cents to $3.72 a bushel; May soybeans declined 46 cents to $13.155 a bushel.

Beef futures traded higher and pork futures traded lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle added 0.47 cent to 90.02 cents a pound; April cattle rose 0.05 cent to $1.0155 a pound; May lean hogs dropped 0.05 cent to 72.67 cents a pound; May pork bellies fell 2.43 cents to 75.77 cents a pound.
