[April 23, 2008]  Lincoln College's annual Alumni Reunion Weekend will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at student-run radio station WLNX on Friday at 1 p.m. The community is invited to the ceremony and tours of the new station facility, located at 428 Keokuk St.

That evening, alumni will gather for a wine and cheese reception, featuring Baxter Wineries of Navoo, from 5:30 to 6:45 in the McKinstry Memorial Library. The cost is $10 per person. During the reception, alumni will have access to the annual student art exhibit in the Layman Art Gallery and the Lincoln College Museum. Immediately following the reception, alumni and guests are invited to the library lecture hall to laugh and listen as the college's improvisational team and the African Percussion Ensemble provide a special performance.

For community members, students, faculty and alumni, the third annual Run, Ramble and Roll, a 5K run and noncompetitive one-mile walk, will start promptly at 10 a.m. Saturday. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at Meyer-Evans Student Center and the cost is $25 per person. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a post-race brunch will be served in the college cafeteria. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Lincoln College Scholarship Fund.

The WLNX grand opening will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Students will host on-air interviews with alumni, and congressman Ray LaHood will be present. Station tours will be available to alumni. To hear the programming, listen to 88.9 on your FM radio or go to http://www.wlnxradio.com/.
