Bloomington man dies in early morning I-55 crash

[April 28, 2008]  Timothy Call, 38, of Bloomington died on Sunday morning after his vehicle left Interstate 55 and rolled. The crash occurred at milepost 125, Fifth Street Road. Responders went to the scene at 12:08 a.m.

Call's vehicle was traveling northbound on I-55 when it crossed the median and rolled over. The vehicle landed on its top in the southbound lanes.

Call was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at 1:25 a.m.

Coroner Bob Thomas said that the cause of death appeared to be due blunt force trauma to the head. Dr. Bowman would perform an autopsy at Memorial Medical Center.

Illinois State Police were assisted by the Logan County Sheriff's Department, Lincoln Fire Department, Logan County Ambulance, Logan County Deputy Coroner Warren Rogers and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is handling funeral arrangements.

The crash is still under investigation.
