[April 30, 2008]  KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) -- World-record holder Asafa Powell won't race for the next two months because of a chest injury. His manager says the sprinter will be able to run at the Beijing Olympics in August.

Powell, who ran 9.74 seconds last year to break the 100-meter mark, pulled a pectoral muscle and will resume training in about a week. His manager, Paul Doyle, said Tuesday that Powell is receiving treatment in Florida.

The Jamaican sprinter will miss IAAF meets in Doha, Qatar; Oslo, Norway; and Eugene, Ore. He won't compete until Jamaica's national championships at the end of June.
