URBANA -- A mouse click is all that is
separating pesticide applicators, whether they are commercial
applicators or homeowners, from the latest information on pesticide
safety, thanks to a new University of Illinois Extension site on the
Web.
|
"Pesticide Safety
Education Program" was developed by Scott Bretthauer,
Michelle Wiesbrook, Phil Nixon, Jim Schuster and Patty Bingaman,
all Extension specialists. The new site contains the current
issue of the Illinois Pesticide Review as well as past issues.
It also features tips and fact sheets, a directory of training
manuals, training schedules, certification information, and a
comprehensive list of resources.
Among the topics covered in the latest
Illinois Pesticide Review are the Home, Yard & Garden Pest
Guide; information on the correct use of sprayers; and pesticide
shelf life.
"The goal of this program and the website is to reach all
users of pesticides with educational information on the
effective, economic and environmentally sound use of
pesticides," said Bretthauer.
