Highway motorcycle crash sends two to hospitals

[August 05, 2008]  A man and woman from Troy were northwest of Lincoln on Interstate 155 at approximately 2:24 p.m. Monday when their motorcycle left the highway. Charles Row, 65, was the driver of a brown 1988 Honda three-wheel motorcycle. Karen S. Row, 63, was his passenger. They were northbound on I-155 at milepost 8 when the motorcycle left the roadway to the right and entered a ditch.

The motorcycle overturned, and both driver and passenger were ejected from the motorcycle. Charles had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Karen Row had life-threatening injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital in Springfield.

The crash victims were aided by the Logan County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln Rural Fire Department, Emden Fire Department and Logan County Paramedic Association.
