Main Street Lincoln moves to new location

[August 06, 2008]  Wanda Lee Rohlfs, executive director of Main Street Lincoln, beamed as she sat at her desk in the organization's new location. The new offices are only two blocks from the old location, but the move places Main Street right in the middle of the downtown square. The new location is 109 S. Kickapoo, in the former home of the Treasure Chest gift shop.

Although Rohlfs is still working to unpack and put everything where it needs to go, the new offices have a warmer, more welcoming feel than the old location at 229 S. Kickapoo.

The front of the office has an area to allow visitors to stop in and watch films or just stop in for a minute and rest in a comfortable wingback chair. There is a conference area near the back of the office, plus there is plenty of storage for supplies and Main Street promotional items.

Main Street Lincoln is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and revitalizing our registered downtown historic district and surrounding businesses. Their mission is to promote, enhance and preserve the commercial and civic enterprises of downtown Lincoln in the Courthouse Square Historic District.
