Special announcement for peach lovers

Send a link to a friend

[August 07, 2008]  George Dahmm at the Habitat for Humanity vegetable stand wants everyone to know they have received a very special shipment of Calhoun County peaches. The peaches were inspected and hand-picked just yesterday and are the size of apples.

The peaches were brought up by Bob Mitchell, a former Lincoln man who is the owner of the Calhoun County orchard where the peaches were grown. Mitchell graciously drove the fresh peaches up himself.

Habitat received 12 bushels of these superb peaches, but their popularity means they probably won't last long.

The stand is located in the CCA building's parking lot, at the corner of Logan and Keokuk. The hours at the stand are daily from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m.
