 Storms and showers in the Southern Plains were to begin to move eastward into the lower Mississippi Valley. Heavy rainfall was expected in eastern Texas and Louisiana, putting these areas also at risk for flooding.
To the Northeast, the New England states were to see scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures were expected to remain warm.
Meanwhile, rain and thunderstorms were expected to persist over the Pacific Northwest as a cold front passes through the region.
The Central and Northern Plains, as well as much of the Midwest, were to continue to see fair conditions.
Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Monday ranged from a low of 33 degrees at Berthoud Pass, Colo., to a high of 108 degrees at Needles, Calif.
