State Rep. Mitchell to host identity theft and scams workshop

[August 20, 2008]  In order to protect senior citizens from identity theft and scams, state Rep. Bill Mitchell will host a workshop in Lincoln on Thursday in conjunction with the Illinois attorney general's office. Seniors will be informed on how scammers steal personal information and ways to prevent potential thefts.

Auto Repair"As state representative I feel it is my responsibility to be proactive in protecting senior citizens from identity theft," Mitchell said. "Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America, with senior citizens being the number one target. By holding this workshop, we hopefully will be able to prevent senior citizens in Lincoln from being the next victim."

The "Identity Theft and Scams" workshop runs 10-11 a.m. Thursday at Lincoln Christian College, 100 Campus View Drive, Restoration Hall, Room R49. To make your reservation to attend, call Mitchell's office at 217-876-1968.
