Marten is ALMH August Employee of the Month

[August 22, 2008]  Talona Marten receives honor as Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital's August Employee of the Month.

Marten is a certified medical assistant working in the laboratory department at ALMH.

She graduated from the registered medical assistant program at Midwest Technical Institute in September 2006 and later passed a state test to become a certified medical assistant.

She has been a phlebotomist and lab secretary at ALMH for almost two years. Her duties take her to the emergency department, medical-surgery, intensive care and obstetrics units, and the laboratory.

Marten describes her daily work as "Stat, Stat, Stat!" She adds, "You have to put on your running shoes, and then have plenty of patience."

One of Marten's co-workers nominated her for employee of the month, praising her reliability, work ethic and positive attitude. "She has a hardworking attitude and can be counted on to give 100 percent to her job. I am glad we have her as part of our team!"

ALMH employs more than 290 in a wide variety of job functions. A different employee is honored each month for their commitment to "creating great patient experiences, getting great results and making ALMH a great place to work."
