[August 23, 2008]  YMCA Preschool Play Center programs begin Sept. 8. Register your 4-5-year-old child for "Preschool Play Days," your 3-year-old child for "Friends and Fun," and your 24-36-month-old for the "Toddler & Me" (parent) program. Program information is available online and at the Y office. Program space is filling fast, so hurry to register.

Your preschool-aged child may also participate in the YMCA Preschool P.E. program on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. until noon. With each class Nate Bossingham does fun calisthenics, plays exciting games and teaches the children a character development lesson. Classes will begin on Sept. 9, so register your child soon.

Registration for the YMCA Before and After School programs continues through August for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Programs are at District 27 elementary schools, Chester-East Lincoln and Olympia South. Visit www.lincolnymca.org for program times, rates, location and more information. Registrations are accepted online or at the YMCA office.

The Y will continue to accept late registration for YMCA Fall Soccer. Of course each form will now require a small fee increase. However, if your child wants to participate in the soccer program, please stop by the Y office as soon as possible to ensure their place on a team.

The YMCA's newest program, Y Cheerleading, is off to a great start! Your 4-year-old through fifth-grader can sign up to join our cheer squad. If you register now, your daughter can join the team as soon as Sept. 6. Come join the cheerleading excitement!

Another new YMCA program, the Y Biking Blast, is on Sept. 6. Families and novice riders may take part in a five-mile ride, while more experienced cyclists may take a shot at the 30-mile route. The Y will provide water and snacks for all participants, and a sag wagon will follow behind as well. So sign up today to take part in this fun event.

Lincoln Area YMCA is one of the several agencies that the United Way of Logan County supports. The United Way annual campaign for 2008 will kick off on Sept. 8. Please support the United Way of Logan County.

Lincoln Area YMCA will offer Hip Hop Fun Dance and Turbo Jam Fun Exercise beginning in mid-September. Sessions will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 6:15 at the YMCA Activity Center, 719 Wyatt Ave. More information is available in the program brochure or by calling the Y office.
