Pulaski Fall Festival just around the corner.
If you think the summer went fast, just wait till we
get into all these fall celebrations. One of the celebrations coming
up fast is the Mount Pulaski Fall Festival hosted by our friends and
neighbors in Mount Pulaski. The three day event runs Thursday
through Saturday, September 4th-7th and there are tons of things to
see each day. There will be plenty of good eats as always so make a
note on your calendar now to spend the weekend in Mount Pulaski. Of
course the LDN will have a full schedule of everything that is
happening all weekend long in next week's edition for you to check.
new improved "old fashioned" Railsplitter Festival.
The middle of September is just going to be teeming
with things to see and do in Lincoln so plan on being busy from
Friday, through Sunday, the weekend of September 12th through the
14th. It will start with a rare opportunity to see what it was like
when the nation was mourning the loss of our favorite son. The
Fricke Calvert Schrader Funeral Home will have a display that will
allow you to see and get a sense of what it was like in those days.
The Logan County Fairgrounds will be hopping as the Railsplitter
Festival brings more displays of information and hands-on projects
to help everyone appreciate more fully what it was like back in
those earliest days of Logan County.
As the date approaches, the LDN will have complete
coverage as well as schedules of everything happening that week so
don't touch that home page, unless you haven't made us your home
page yet. Remember at the Lincoln Daily News, we have all the room
in the world for good news.
Got a good piece of news, information or
something that we can all brag about? If you do, e-mail Mike and let
us tell everyone about it. Plus you can win cash. Every submission,
whether we use it or not, will get your name in the "Close Up" grab
bag. At the end of the month we will draw a name and someone will
get $25.00 just for dropping us an e-mail. If you wish, we will be
happy to donate your winnings to the organization of your choice.
