Carlton is a graduate of the Logan County Leadership Academy and the
Excellence in Leadership Program at Bradley University. A former
supervisor at Caterpillar in Peoria, Carlton currently works at
Integrity Data as custom sales manager. O'Neill, who retired from
Kroger, works for Pepsi-Cola. "We can make Logan County a great
place for people to build their future," Carlton noted. "To start,
we will develop a clear vision for the county's future. Then we will
connect our vision to strategic initiatives and goals.
"The people of Logan County have chosen us. We'll roll up our
sleeves and get to work."
Carlton, Bill Martin, Jan Schumacher and Dave Hepler were sworn
in as new board members Monday by Judge Thomas Harris. They join
O'Neill, John Stewart, Chuck Ruben, Rick Aylesworth, T.W. "Terry" Werth,
Robert Farmer and Gloria Luster on the board.
Also sworn in were State's Attorney Mike McIntosh, Circuit Clerk
Carla Bender and Coroner Robert Thomas.
Later this month Carlton will appoint a replacement for the
county board seat vacated by McIntosh.
Carlton requests that Republicans living in District 6 who are
interested in serving on the board submit a letter of interest and a
resume by Dec. 8 to the office of the Logan County Board, P.O. Box
39, Lincoln, IL 62656. The letter should include why the candidate
is interested in serving on the board, what priorities he or she
would like to see the board pursue, and what his or her vision is
for the future of Logan County.
