Lincoln Police Department reports for Monday, Dec. 8

Hit-and-run on Dec. 3 at 8:30 p.m.; 1700 W. Fifth St.

--Rodney L. Dial, 41-year-old male, Lincoln; 2003 Ford SE

Dial said he parked facing west in the parking lot at 1700 Fifth St. around 8:30 p.m. He returned to his vehicle around 10:30 p.m., drove home and did not find damage to his vehicle until the next morning, when he discovered that the rear passenger side had been damaged. Upon returning to the parking lot, Dial found parts from his vehicle lying in the parking lot. Whoever struck the vehicle did not leave any information. Dial said the parking lot was iced over when he parked and was still iced over when he left.

Property damage on Dec. 3 at 7:45 p.m.; 1210 Woodlawn Road

--William L. Banister, 18-year-old male, New Holland; 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT

Banister said he was driving through the Heritage Plaza parking lot, lost control of the vehicle on the ice and snow, and slid into a light pole.

Logan County Sheriff's Department reports for Monday, Dec. 8

  • Heft, James N., 25-year-old male, Latham; arrested Dec. 6 on the Logan-Macon County line; failure to appear; $1,000 bond or 10 percent to apply; there is a McLean County and Sangamon County "hold"

  • Koeppen, Christopher A., 30-year-old male, Lincoln; arrested Dec. 5 on 700 Avenue south of 1400th Street; Class 4 -- second offense for bad check greater than $150, speeding 40 mph over posted limit

  • Shepherd, Karah B., 19-year-old female, Springfield; arrested Dec. 4 on 1250th Street at 1250th Avenue; possession of marijuana under 2.5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, violating the minimum speed regulation
