Lincoln Police Department reports for Tuesday, Dec. 9
Accident report on Dec. 8 at 5:39 a.m.; Old Route 66 northbound,
one-fourth mile from Nicholson Road
--Stephen J. Sauer, 62-year-old male, Lincoln; 2002 Chevrolet
Blazer 4x4, four-door
Sauer said he was traveling north on Old Route 66, Lincoln
Parkway. As his vehicle approached the top of the railroad overhead,
the vehicle spun out of control on the ice. The vehicle went over
the median and slid backward into the guardrail on the other side of
the roadway. There was no damage to the guardrail and no injury
reported.

Property damage on Dec. 8 at 6:41 a.m.; 1100 Fifth Street, 50
feet west of South Madison Street
--Mark Dawson, male, Lincoln; 2000 Mercury Cougar
Dawson said he pulled into the parking area of Casey’s, slid on
the ice and struck the building. There was no damage to the
building. A witness also said that Dawson came into the parking
area, slid on the ice and struck the building.

Vehicle damage on Dec. 8 at 8:01 a.m.; Water Street, four feet
north of Tremont Street
--Stacy N. Peacock, 30-year-old female, Lincoln; 2003 Saturn Ion
Peacock said she was eastbound on Tremont Street, turned north
onto Water Street, slid on the ice and struck the curb, causing
damage to her vehicle.

Property damage on Dec. 8 at 5:25 p.m.; Lincoln Parkway, 175 feet
south of Stringer Avenue
--Betty L. Logan, 76-year-old female, Lincoln; 2006 Chevrolet
Impala LS
Logan said she was driving northbound on Lincoln Parkway, and as
she started to make the right turn onto Stringer Avenue she turned
too soon, ran off the roadway and struck a traffic control sign. She
was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
