The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Extension unit to sponsor bingo

The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor bingo at The Oasis on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m. Come win nutritional foods.

Alzheimer support group to meet

The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the library at the senior center. No reservation is necessary. The group provides support and information for caregivers and extended family and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Oasis board meeting

The Oasis board of directors is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m. Thursday. The meeting is open to the public. To schedule any agenda items, the board must receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.

Food distribution

The Self Help and Resource Exchange Program distribution will be on Friday between 4 and 5:30 p.m. at the senior center. The program is an outreach sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. For more details, contact the senior center at 732-6132.

For the month of December there will be no bunco.

Traveling bingo

The Oasis will be traveling to Atlanta on Monday to play bingo at the Atlanta Community Center. Games will begin 1 p.m.

Tuesday lunch

The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Dec. 23 will feature pasta bake, garlic bread and dessert for $3.75; or, if you stay to play cards, the cost is $3.25. The reservation deadline is noon Monday.

Card winners

The winner for weekday pinochle was Betty Oltmanns. The weekend winners were Larry Van Bibber and Harold Goodman. Congratulations.
