Agriculture futures trade higher on the CBOT

[December 17, 2008]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures were higher Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

CivicWheat for March delivery jumped 24 cents to $5.44 a bushel; March corn advanced 18.75 cents to $3.94 a bushel; March oats rose 10 cents to $2.26 a bushel; and January soybeans gained 12.5 cents to $8.585 a bushel.

Beef futures traded higher and pork futures were mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle edged up 3 cents to 86.8 cents a pound; January feeder cattle gained 3 cents to 91.12 cents a pound; February lean hogs lost 12 cents to 62.45 cents a pound; and February pork bellies rose 3 cents to 83.97 cents a pound.
