Crash on Dec. 18 at 2:54 p.m.; South Main Street --Sherri L.
Kaleff, 42-year-old female, Lincoln; 2004 Ford Ranger
--Joseph K. Jones, 83-year-old male, Lincoln; 2007 Chevrolet
Malibu
Kaleff was northbound on South Main Street, approaching the yield
at the intersection of South Main and Seventh Street. Jones was
eastbound on Seventh Street, approaching the same intersection. As
Kaleff entered the intersection, her vehicle slid thorough the
intersection on the snow and slush and struck the rear passenger
side of Jones’ vehicle. Kaleff said she did not realize how slick
the roadway was and slid right into the intersection.
Kaleff was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions, failure
to reduce speed.

Crash on Dec. 19 at 6:02 p.m.; North Hamilton and Tremont
--Daniel A. Fulscher, 53-year-old male, Lincoln; 1998 Ford
Econoline E450
--Dea S. Dehna, 36-year-old female, Lincoln; 2007 Dodge Caravan
Dehna was headed westbound on Tremont Street toward North
Hamilton. Dehna said she did not see Fulscher southbound on North
Hamilton. She said Fulscher slid into the intersection and struck
her vehicle. Dehna attempted to swerve to the left to avoid being
struck. She spun around after the accident on the ice-covered
roadway. Fulscher said he was responding to a fire in the area.
Fulscher said that he did brake and slid into the ice-covered
roadway.

Crash on Dec. 20 at 1:38 p.m.; Woodlawn Road
--Jodi L. Long, 44-year-old female, Galesburg; 2000 Honda CR-V LX
--Walter R. Graybeal Jr., 65-year-old male, Bloomington; 2007
Ford Taurus
Long said she was backing south out of a parking space. She
looked both ways and did not see Graybeal’s vehicle behind her.
Graybeal said he saw Long’s vehicle backing out slowly and thought
she saw him. Long backed her vehicle into Graybeal’s.
