Mary Knollenberg

[December 22, 2008]  Mary E. Knollenberg, 90, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at 6:45 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Laible officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

There is no visitation.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Knollenberg was a homemaker.

She was born Sept. 5, 1918, in Lincoln to Ben and Clara Routson Morrow. She married Herbert G. Knollenberg on Dec. 28, 1941, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death in February 1983.

She is survived by two sons, John (and Jan) Knollenberg of Lincoln and Tom (and Jo) Knollenberg of Grayslake; one daughter, Deb Roberts of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, JoAnn Friel of Chicago and Phyllis Morrow of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

One sister preceded her in death.

She was a member of Holy Family Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was a board member for Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and a volunteer at the hospital. She was also a member of the American Cancer Society and a 4-H leader.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
