Agriculture futures rise on Chicago BOT

[December 30, 2008]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures rose in midday trading Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery jumped 14.75 cents to $6.14 a bushel, while March corn added 7.25 cents to $4.195 a bushel. March oats gained 4.5 cents to $2.355 a bushel, and March soybeans climbed 18.5 cents to $9.75 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures mostly rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle gained 0.55 cent to 86.65 cents a pound, while March feeder cattle added 0.85 cent to 92.60 cents a pound. February lean hogs traded up 0.40 cent to 59.35 cents a pound, but February pork bellies lost 0.45 cent to 88 cents a pound.
