[February 02, 2008]  (AP) Snowfall was expected to diminsh in New England on Saturday as a winter storm continues to move northeast. Some snow was forcast for the Great Lakes region.

On the West Coast, a storm was expected to slam into Oregon, Washington and much of California, bringing rain and high-elevation snow. Up to two feet of snow was possible in the Sierra Nevadas.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Friday ranged from a low of minus 18 degrees at Alamosa, Colo., to a high of 84 degrees at Marathon, Fla.
