"What a great start to the state series," said Ed Jodlowski, one of the Lincoln coaches. He said the students have worked "tirelessly day after day since August, and their success is truly a testament to their work ethic."

"We feel we have a real great opportunity hosting the sectional this coming weekend, and students just need to finish among the top three next weekend to qualify for the state tournament."

Lincoln hosts schools from the Belleville West and Benton regionals at the Lincoln Sectional.

The team has also rescheduled the "Meet the Regional Team" -- which is now the sectional team -- to Thursday night at 6:30. Everyone is invited to come out and see this talented group of young people show off their speaking talents.
