[February 05, 2008]  A dense fog advisory remains in effect until noon Tuesday for the counties of Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Fulton, Tazewell, McLean, Schuyler, Mason, Logan, DeWitt, Cass, Menard, Scott, Morgan and Sangamon, including the cities of Galesburg, Peoria, Bloomington, Normal, Havana, Lincoln, Jacksonville and Springfield.

Visibilities have improved overall since Monday. However, pockets of dense fog persist across central Illinois.

The low levels of the atmosphere remain very moist due to recent snow melting and rainfall. This air mass is conducive to the development of dense fog across the region Tuesday morning.

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one-quarter mile. If driving, slow down. Use your low-beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
