[February 07, 2008]  Thursday morning's report for Logan County Emergency Management indicates that flooding is stabilizing. "We're holding on," assistant director Terry Storer said.

Flooding on the Salt Creek has slowed. We're still watching as Clinton Lake is still in flood stage, Storer said.

Lincoln Lakes is good. Rocky Ford is flooded.

Twelve roads remain closed in the county:

  • Nicholson north of the "S" curve

  • Fifth Street west of the "S" curve

  • Two entries to Lawndale from the west

  • Two roads west of Middletown

  • Mount Pulaski, 400th Avenue, south of Route 10 at the "S" curve

  • Hartsburg area, 2300th between 600 and 700 Avenue

  • Atlanta, northeast, 2175th Avenue north of 2237th Street

  • And several remote rural roads

One unoccupied vehicle remains stranded at Rocky Ford until the water recedes and a tow truck can get to it, Storer said.

There have been numerous reports of vehicles off the road during this week's fog, heavy rains and flooding. Motorists are urged to be cautious.

If anyone is stranded and needs help, they can call the EMA office during business hours at 732-9491. Call 911 after hours.
